flexibility and general mobility. Following a surgery, the physical

The decor of
david place provides a very homelike and comfortable
atmosphere with many seating areas for residents and visitors to use
throughout the facility. |
Open Dining
david place provides delicious and nutritious
meals three times a day, with snacks offered throughout the day. We
have an open meal policy and residents can attend meals any time
during the meal hour. Breakfast is offered from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m.,
dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and supper from 5:30 to 6:30
p.m. This is one way we can allow more personal decision-making to
our residents. For those who wish to sleep in, a later breakfast can
be brought to them. A lit oak-framed menu at the entrance of the
dining room lists the menu options.
A Registered Dietician
is on our team to offer special individual needs and counseling.

Ruth Thomas and her
adopted grandchild plant flowers together this past spring. The
adopt-a-grandchild program is just one of the many ways
children visit and participate in activities with the
residents here at david place. |
Adopt a Grandparent
Interactions with
children are encouraged to enhance quality of life. Students from
the local schools partner with us at different times of the year.
The students adopt a resident and spend weekly quality time visiting
together or make class visits. A local daycare center also makes
monthly visits to our home.

Eden Alternative concept creates a natural habitat where elders
interact with life on a daily basis, through the companionship of
children and animals, and nurturing the growth of living plants.
Dogs, cats, fish and birds all call

Adopt-a-Grandparent Programs and daycare centers for class visits.

Neighborhood Concept
Each of our three
halls is a neighborhood with elected officers and monthly meetings.
Neighborhood coordinators, by working with a smaller number of
residents, are able to form a more personal relationship.
Neighborhood coordinators lead activities for their hall and cater
to the special requests of the residents.
